Bleeding Heart Front Counter Process Video

Evolution of a Counter-face

so I was asked by the awesome people over at the Bleeding Heart to do something for their front counter....up to me as far as design goes....so here's the progression from scrap to, well.....a pretty nice almost finished piece
cut to size

primed

the first rough layout....the initial idea was the 2 pieces would meet at Damen and Belmont, thus the black "buildings" and for some reason some rolling hills in the back ground?

also, in the original plan there was to be some baked goods at the far left and a whole herd of zombies charging down from the right side towards the deliciousness (yes, Frankenstein and Chewbacca made the initial cut, but didnt make it to the finals)

the one piece was a little short so i went through some trial and error efforts to make a suitable "extension"

and then something happened, i got a whole new perspective/outlook on this "street scene" and realized how flat and uninspiring this looked, so i went to town in an attempt to make some changes.....

and so now....here it is, almost complete....questioning whether or not to add the zombies now that i actually like the painting part......oh well, the customer is always right

questions, comments and critiques are ALWAYS welcome and encouraged......

cannibals ninjas pirates and hooligans!

no, not really....and not really much to say (for once) but seriously, i have been working on some new book ideas, plus a new installation piece is in the works for display at the Bleeding Heart Bakery (for which I desperately need this humidity to go down so I can finish it already!!!!!) and quite a few new other pieces in the works as well, been dabbling with mixing some styles and coming up with new ones in the process, anyways....blah blah blah....here's some stuff to look at.....

here's a few pics of the process if you will.....this orange one will be done soon

and i got to witness one of the greatest movies of all time, "Terror Beneath the Sea" which i promptly purchased on amazon.com after seeing it

but most importantly, we're having a baby and here "she" is (the hospital person couldnt tell for sure but he was pretty sure it's a girl)

and we ARE taking name submissions, if we like your's and USE it you will receive a prize which is yet to be determined......

luv you all, i need to sleep.......
