Couple more doodles....

so you got to see what i like to "draw" at night, so here's a couple of my morning drawing exercises......sometimes its hard to concentrate in the morning so i like to draw first thing in an attempt to jump start my brain activity....most of the time it works but sometimes i blow a fuse and just go back to sleep......

this first one is UberSuperCat2000, a cross between space cat from Tom&Jerry and my buddy Rob's "Super Fast Car of the Future"

this one is my late grandma on my mom's side....she used to play the shamisen in the Emporer's Royal Court

i try to draw every morning but sometimes i dont have enough time cause im usually late for work, but im going to try and keep posting these in hopes of motivating me to draw MORE!!!!!!

Late Night Doodles....

so this is what i do when its time for lights out and i still cant sleep.....

step 1: scribble jam

step 2: re-trace and add thickness to some of the lines

step 3: continue until you're done or you pass out....either way is fine

sometimes scribble jams dont always go as planned and end up like this:

and sometimes when there's less light they're just straight up messy:

anyways, thats all for now....

Over the weekend.....

....i managed to get a few more paintings close to done, i think....

this one looks like i swiped it from a double queen @ the Holiday Inn down in Miami or something......and close up you can almost smell Don Johnson's hair gel....

this next one took a few days, i managed to find some new paint for really really cheap and it flows very nicely, been mixing some new colors and trying to use tones that dont look like they just came off the shelf (ya know, like yellow and green....what?)

no close up/detail of the green one yet as i think it needs a few more layers...as does the red/black/white one from earlier.....anyways, thats what i did this weekend

Few more new pictures....

...of some more stuff i been toyin with

this was just a board i had globs of paint on and started swirlin it around.....

then i added a "Pollock" touch to it.....

and now it looks much better......

The Process

ok, so some of my later work has been a little abstract i guess....as stated earlier i did watch the Pollock movie and it has heavily influenced my stuff since then, but dont worry there are many many more monsters on the horizon for me to paint! BUT in the mean time i am happy to throw paint around and practice breaking free of form....so here's a little step by step as to how one of these came about.......

....and there it is....another almost finished piece by yours truly. In all honesty it does need about 8 or 9 more layers but i just wanted to give you an idea of what goes into something like this.....at least when i do it, so there's no sayin if its right or not but i like it....anyways, more to come later

(ps...i didnt realize only half of the picture would show but if you click on them it will take you to photobucket and you can see the full image, sorry for the trouble)

New Year New Goals New Lack of Internets

Hola! so here we are in 2010 and I'm waiting in line for my flying car....oh wait, thats right, we dont have those yet....oh well.....anyways, lots of new and exciting things are going on and the biggest is fielding the question "So when's the big day?" or something along those lines....well, to answer everyone (namely the 3 people that read this blog) we're not even thinking about that yet! too much going on right now to worry about when, we already know its going down so just deal with that being our final answer.

As far as art work goes I had the misfortune of watching the movie Pollak, and while I really did enjoy the movie Im having a hard time not wanting to schlop paint all over the place! there are splatter marks all over my floor, tv, walls and even some on the couch, not to mention my clothes are covered in paint......I managed to crank out 5 paintings in about 4 days......not that they are breath taking or masterpieces or anything but something new and something different soooooooo.....here's some examples........
